Our wedding will be hosted at Lake O' The Woods Plantation in Warrenton, NC, including both the ceremony and reception. Lake O' The Woods is a beautiful and historic plantation home that is unlike any other you can find anywhere else. The home was originally built in 1852 and is registered on the National Register of Historic Places. Much of the home has been maintained in it's original state, including furniture, while some new additions have expanded the home and added modern appeal without sacrificing any of the historic flavor.
We chose Lake O' The Woods Plantation as our wedding venue because of how uniquely Southern (and just plain unique!) it is. Once on site, you feel transported to a different time and place, as there are no neighbors within sight and no city within miles. The home itself has a personality, and the setting is absolutely picturesque.
Additionally, we are aware that most of our family has never been to North Carolina or has only visited once or twice, and we wanted our wedding to show off what we consider to be the essence of North Carolina - natural beauty, historical significance, and breathtaking landscapes and greenery. We think Lake O' The Woods embodies these features and we hope you fall in love with the plantation, and North Carolina, just as we have!
